Fish Fry Debut!

TCI A.W.A.R.E. Inc. is now Representing at Fish Fry!

It was with great enthusiasm that on January 12, 2017, we officially launched our booth at the Thursday night Fish Fry event; one of the Turks and Caicos Island’s most popular hangouts.

‘Island Fish Fry’, as it is popularly referred to, is an explosion of local culture, attracting both tourists and Islanders – giving them a unique experience of dozens of local dishes and entertainers; with every night capped with the rather captivating junkanoo band.

As this event captures “all things TCI”, we believe that the unfortunate situation the Islands’ abandoned animals find themselves in, ought to be given the same prominence.

TCI A.W.A.R.E.’s founder, Michael Fenimore explains: “My hope at this event is to raise awareness about the plight of our equine population while simultaneously collecting donations for the construction of TCI A.W.A.R.E.’s Animal Sanctuary, located in the nation’s capital, Grand Turk.”

It was quite heartening to see the response and interest from attendees on our first night, as well as successive Thursday nights. We are also quite grateful for the positive engagements and feedback from people from all over the world and we encourage you to write to us.

A special thanks to the TCI Tourist board, without whose help we would not be given this wonderful opportunity to engage and educate the public.

We also greatly appreciate every single donation – be it monetary, or food to help feed our thirsty and hungry donkey, horses and mules.

Every contribution brings us one step closer to our goal.

“Special thanks to our first official volunteer Delana Isles for assisting at our booth!”
